Range Tee Update:

The driving range tee opened on May 24th, 2019. We have been using it hard for the last two months and now we have seen how the turf species and drainage/irrigation updates have been helping us. Recovery time is currently about 6 weeks from when a station is used to when it can be used again. Sod is being used on stations where a "line divot pattern" wasn't followed or where a station just encountered heavy foot traffic. Please see the pictures below for a visual explanation of the current benefits the new range tee is providing.

Stations closest to cart barn are used most!

Areas that will not recover quickly are removed and new sod is installed

New Driving Range Tee Update

Driving range tee as of 5/9/2019. Some thin areas are still growing in as we are still waiting on warm weather. We anticipate opening the grass tee closest to the mats in the back and working forwards to give the front of the tee some additional time to finish growing in.

This view is from the far side of the range tee. The turf-type tall fescue surrounds are still growing in but are looking great from ground level. The turf grown from seed on the hillside will do much better than sod during periods of drought once established.

Driving Range Tee

Prior to "winter" we put the first cut on the new range tee surface. Although it looks green, many areas are still thin and need time to mature in the spring before it can be used. We currently anticipate opening the new range tee on Memorial Day weekend 2019.
